Super Sunday

#1: We sat down at church yesterday morning not realizing we had sat directly behind Ken Starr and his lovely wife! Dean Perrin introduced us, and we had a nice conversation. The Starrs were so kind to us.

#2: After worship and on our way to class we ran into David & Cindy (and Kyle) Wood, friends from Arkansas! The Woods helped Kyle move to the area for an accounting job in L.A. It was good to visit with them for a while.

#3: At class, Virginia introduced herself to me. She graduated at the top of her class at the School of Law five years ago and now works for a major firm in downtown L.A. She availed herself to me for my many questions and shared some valuable advice on how to do well in law school.

#4: John Wilson teaches our Sunday class. He is an amazing teacher (and a religion professor at Pepperdine). One of my favorite quotes was that a sermon that quotes nothing but Scripture can have bad theology. Think on that for awhile!!!

#5: We attended the all-church potluck at the college president’s home afterwards, and you should see the view. (I didn’t have my camera, but I’ll try to do better next time!) We met the president and his wife (the Bentons), and they are so kind. President Benton is a lawyer, too!

#6: The NFL began yesterday! The good news was my Dallas Cowboys. The bad news was my first round draft pick on my fantasy team (Tom Brady) went down. To me, the good outweighed the bad.

Quite a day.

    Ditto Tom Brady.

You’ll be green to know that I’ll be going with friends to see Dallas play next Monday night … live!

Another Cowboy fan here! They looked good. Let’s hope it is because we are so good, not that Cleveland is so bad.

Al – should I worry about all your nice feelings about those conservatives?

Hey! I just made contact with the campus Democrat contingent! Just in the nick of time, eh? 🙂
