All’s Well That Ends Well

Yesterday promised its share of stress, but it turned out to be a really nice day overall.

Jody’s southern accent led into a really cool telephone conversation at work with someone who has famous all around her. Since it was a work conversation, I shouldn’t name-drop publicly, but even though folks probably wouldn’t recognize her name at first glance, her interesting world spans generations. (You can give Jody or I a call or drop us an email if your interest is piqued.)

Hillary is really settling into Malibu life. Her new little pack of friends at school were planning their Halloween costumes yesterday and deciding where they were going to trick-or-treat together, and her youth group at church went to “Malibu Yo’s” (aka Malibu Yogurt) after class last night together.

Erica called Jody and sent me a text message celebrating where she’s at in her college education. She met with her advisor yesterday and determined that she only has a light load next semester followed by student teaching this coming summer and she is DONE with college! Sounds like her advisor helped her with career advice, too.

I am so proud of all my girls.

And as for me, I survived my first mid-term. It was bad in one sense (hard, hard, hard), but good in the sense that I didn’t run out of the room crying (which, believe it or not, is a very real possibility in law school exams). Writing instead of typing didn’t kill me. I think I will write again on my Contracts midterm next week.

Then last evening, with close to 70 members of CLS (Christian Legal Society) gone to Washington, D.C., on a trip, there were just nine of us that gathered with the Perrins for our midweek Bible study. We went around the room and simply shared the stories of what led us here, and it was so very nice.

Like I say, it promised to be a stressful day, but as the old saying goes, all’s well that ends well.
