You probably wouldn’t recognize this as a Bible verse. I sure didn’t when Milt, one of our elders, read it as the benediction to our worship assembly yesterday morning. Which explains the power of Eugene Peterson’s attempt in “The Message” to put the Bible into our everyday vernacular.
You’re probably familiar with Paul’s “be not conformed to this world” in Romans 12. Peterson’s translation into my language sure helps me in this instance.
