The Waves were run over by the Ramblin’ Wreck from Georgia Tech yesterday. Definitely a rebuilding year for Pepperdine Hoops, and their 1-11 record shows it. Glory days for Waves Athletics are expected in the spring with Men’s Volleyball (preseason #2 in the country) and Baseball (preseason #8).
And my Dallas Cowboys bumbled away a game last night, bidding a distasteful adieu to good old Texas Stadium. I am so glad my wife made it possible for me to see a game there a couple of years back with my good friend, David.
But on the positive “sports” side yesterday, Jody, Hillary, and I watched “The Rookie” on DVD last night. We hadn’t watched it a long time, and I had forgotten how good it really was. It was good to see that Jim Morris did make it to the major leagues after all (that’s the cool thing about movies – same ending every time!).
And today, I’m in the championship game of my Fantasy Football league. I have no business being there, so losing and coming in second place will be much better than I deserve. But who knows – maybe Tyler Thigpen will rescue me once more! Never bet against the Malibu Big Owls!!!
