Regardless of your political preferences, today is a special day. I happen to be one of the majority of Americans that is also happy about the possibilities.
I hope the Bush family enjoys retirement. I hope the Obama family becomes a force for good in the world.
I would love to sit around and watch television all day, but I am in law school. Thankfully, the law school is going to rebroadcast the inauguration during lunch because, other than that, I will barely get a chance to breathe today – four classes to attend, two to prepare for, and an evening in downtown L.A. networking with “family law” attorneys.
But when today is over, the United States of America will have a new president, the one I thought had the best shot of doing something positive. How it will go remains to be seen, but today, looking ahead – as the campaign emphasized – is ripe with possibilities.
