Well. Hogs Generally Are Ugly.

Posted: January 2, 2010 in Miscellaneous

In what may be the ugliest bowl win in the history of college football, the Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the East Carolina Pirates despite failing to control the line of scrimmage as well as failing to convert a single third (or fourth) down in the entire game (including overtime). If the game wasn’t so ugly, that feat is almost amazing.

Couple of things well-known about the Hogs before the game are still apparent:
1) We have tons of young talent at the skilled positions; and
2) We need kickers. Although…

Alex Tejada was our MVP tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay. Celebration over. What SHOULD be apparent to everyone after tonight’s game:

1) Ryan Mallett is nowhere near ready for the NFL; and
2) Our recruiting priorities should be clear — DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE, and offensive linemen. Oh, and kickers.

But as the saying goes, a win’s a win. Although this particular Liberty Bowl makes that an arguable proposition.
