Date Night on the Westside

Posted: May 29, 2010 in Family and Friends

Jody and I actually got to go on a date for our anniversary! Very, very nice.

We stopped at a little Mexican place on Sunset in the Pacific Palisades called Kay ‘n Dave’s where we both enjoyed the steak fajitas. Tiny place, but friendly staff and excellent food. Plus, when we were trying to find it, I almost ran over Chad Lowe who was out pushing his child in her stroller. Thankfully, I didn’t make national news.

Here’s Chad for people like me who wouldn’t recognize him if you ran into him on the street: 🙂

Then we went to UCLA’s “Little Theater” to watch a performance of Cabaret. Phenomenal actors and actresses, which should be expected in the theater department of a major university just down the road from Hollywood. Very cool.

It was also cool to sit a couple of rows in front of Marcia Wallace. I’m no good at spotting celebrities (Jody spotted Chad Lowe), but even I recognized Marcia Wallace, what with her blazing red hair and all. I remember her first from The Bob Newhart Show, but more often from all the game shows she was on in my growing up years. Probably most folks today would know her more from being the voice of Edna Krabappel on The Simpsons. I read later that she is about to start (in August) a run on Broadway as Madame Morrible in Wicked.

Here she is doing her thing years ago on Super Password:
