Probably most non-lawyer types have heard of the idea of “making law review” while in law school. It is one of those big deals for your resume, and in an economic climate such as our own, your resume needs all the help it can get.
Which is why I spent almost my entire Saturday working on the write-on project. It is due in a couple of weeks, and I can already tell from just one week at my internship, Mondays through Fridays are pretty much out for doing anything outside of the following: heavy traffic, Public Counsel, and saying “hi” to my family.
Pepperdine has four academic journals that you can try to “write on” to through this project, and I think the one I am most interested in is the Dispute Resolution Law Journal.
Today, I actually assembled an entire rough draft of the text of my case note. However, the footnotes are literally supposed to be as long (or longer) than the actual paper, and I haven’t started on those yet. That is the plan for Sunday.
Well, it’s Good Night for me. I will check back in with you all sometime tomorrow.
I have perused some of the topics in previous issues. Most of them would qualify as the epitome of ESOTERIC for this humble non-lawyer.
I was actually looking for a sample “Write On” to see what you have let yourself in for.
LOL.
Yeah, I don’t know what I have let myself in for, but I can guarantee you that its over my head. 🙂
